An Item is the lowest level in the hierarchy — an individual thing you want to keep track of. Items can live in an Area, a Location, or a Box.

Click + Add on the Items list page. Core fields:

• Name — required. What the item is called.
• Container — the Area, Location, or Box it lives in. Use the scan button to select by QR code.
• Quantity — how many of this item.
• Description and Tags — optional extra detail and categorisation.

Optional fields (enabled by admins under Site Administration):

• Value — current estimated value.
• Serial Number — unique identifier for the physical object.
• Acquisition Date & Value — when and what you paid.
• Destination — where this item is eventually headed (e.g. "Donate", "Sell").

Attach photos and videos to any Item. On a desktop, drag-and-drop or click to upload files. On a mobile device, a camera button appears so you can take a photo on the spot. Photos are automatically compressed to keep upload sizes manageable.

Use the Move action in the Items list to change which Box, Location, or Area an Item lives in. In the move modal, pick a new Area, then optionally narrow down to a Location and then a Box. You can also scan a QR code to set the destination instantly.

Select multiple Items and use Bulk Move to relocate them all at once.

Tick the checkbox on multiple Items in the list to reveal bulk action buttons:

• Bulk Move — move all selected Items to a new container.
• Bulk Tag — assign tags to all selected Items at once.

Every Item has a QR code. Print it from the Item detail page or the Print Labels page. The full audit history shows every edit, move, and tag change.
