Locations are specific spots inside an Area — shelves, walls, corners, or any sub-division of a space.

What Is a Location?

A Location sits inside an Area and represents a more specific spot within it. Examples: "North Shelf", "Left Wall", "Under Stairs", "Top Rack".

Locations are optional — if you don't need to sub-divide an Area you can place Boxes and Items directly in the Area.

Creating a Location

Click + Add on the Locations list page. Fill in:

  • Name — required.
  • Area — which Area this Location belongs to. You can also scan the Area's QR code using the scan button next to the field.
  • Description, Tags, Photos, and Videos — optional.

Moving a Location

To move a Location to a different Area, click the Move action in the list row. Select the destination Area in the modal, then confirm. You can also move multiple Locations at once using Bulk Move.

QR Codes & History

Locations have their own QR codes and audit history, just like Areas. Use them to quickly navigate to a Location when scanning boxes on a shelf.
